Last week I ordered sunshine for today, and Mr Weatherman didn’t disappoint…

We started with the usual chilly morning, but soon enough, the sun was high in the sky, and temperatures were pushing 19°C (66°F).
In our quest to get the trail ready for the start of Spring, Matt, David, Ram, Steve, Reece, Ian, Dave, and Paul turned out to try and get the benches and picnic tables in some sort of order.
Firstly, we started with the bench that we put in for our fallen hero, Mick.
Mick was with us from day 1 and really pushed the wildlife angle. He passed away a couple of years ago, and we put this bench in for him. Sadly, it was a bit worse for wear, so we fixed it up and gave it a fresh lease of life.
He would come to this spot most Spring and Summer evenings to watch the sunset.
Secondly, a very generous lady called Gail gave us a bench that she no longer needed in her back garden.
We had to disassemble it, get it onto the path, and then build it back up again.
It needs woodstain, which we will do in the next few days, and the slats maybe have a season or two left in them, but the A-frame is sturdy, so this will last if we replace the seats and top as and when we need to.
Thank you, Gail.

And lastly, our really old picnic table that has been with us for many, many years needed the top replacing.
Hopefully, it makes it an attractive place to stop and have a bit of a picnic, or just a coffee, and enjoy the green surroundings.
Some of the lads posed for a pic…

The harsh sunlight is making the camera struggle.
The path is starting to green up, and where scrub was, it is now grassy wildflower margins.
It’s looking pretty good now that the ground is finally starting to dry out.
From a blog point of view, our reach is looking pretty decent.

Our latest new country is Laos in Asia, and the person there has looked at the blog no less than 9 times, so thank you, Laos person, or persons.

I’m still really struggling to get anyone from Estonia and Svalbard to look at us, but I keep trying… And I don’t think the internet has reached central Africa yet. None of my blogging friends have managed to capture a view from there.

To finish, a hammy video with my phone camera, just to give a flavour of how it looks…
Yeah, yeah… Little things please little minds (the music).
If you know, you know…

Next one is on the Dunchurch Bridleway on Friday, checking out our flood, and next week we are on the other side of the Cawston Bridleway bridge doing much the same as this week.
Thanks for reading, and until next time!
Paul
